Course Overview
The climb to an altitude of nearly 200m of Pringle Mtn, the thrilling descent and unforgettable ride along the Bras D’Or Lakes plus another climb to the top of Sporting Mtn area are the highlights of this year’s event no one will want to miss.
- The 60km Marathon. For the keen riders;
- The 25km Adventure. A moderate to easy circuit suited for the weekend warriors.
Saturday, July 17th
Start Time 09:30 a.m.
Begin with a 2.5km warm-up ride around the village of St. Peter’s followed by a gradual climb to the top of Pringle’s Mountain. Here cyclists of the short and long tours divide. Both rides are for all skills and abilities and feature stops at entertaining, fully provisioned Pit Stops. Enjoy four to six hours of incredible landscapes and outdoor adventure on trails that will test riders’ endurance and skills. Enough to fill everyone's expectations and give each tens of reasons to brag at the celebration at the Lion’s Hall in St. Peter’s by mid-afternoon.
Event Location
Ride Headquarters: St. Peter’s Lions Hall. Riders are recommended to be on site the day before the ride, or at least one hour (1hr) before the start on ride day to pick-up their ride kit, (map, cue sheet, bike plaque, etc). Several hotels, motels, B&Bs and campgrounds available within short riding/driving distance.
Logistic & Emergency Support
Course will be well-signed; riders must follow the marked course for their own safety. Patrollers will be on the course and at strategic locations to direct participants and to provide emergency assistance if required. Pit Stops at regular intervals along the road will provide food and refreshments.
Registration for Saturday’s Event
Open to all Capable cyclists. If you haven’t yet had the “AHC Experience” there’s never been a better time to give it a go.
Riders 16 to 18 years of age are allowed to participate but a parent or tutor must accompany them at all times. Failure to do so will force the organizers to remove the participant from the ride.
Registration limited to 100. Registration Deadline July 11th.
